Susy Calvert

Monster Exchange has seen thousands of partners go through the project.

A special partner on Monster Exchange is Susy Calvert, a coordinator/teacher at the Maxwell Hill Gifted Center for Raleigh County Schools in West Virginia.

Calvert, the volunteer Administrator for Monster Exchange, is a recipient of a Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Fellowship to Japan in 1999. She also serves as a system operator for the Maxwell Hill Elementary School for three IBM computer labs and as the Technology Chairperson for the school.

Calvert is a member of both the Raleigh County Technology team and the West Virginia State Department of Education Technology Task Force.

In her spare time, she manages to volunteer as Maxwell Elementary's webmaster. Her awards include being selected as an Earthwatch Fellow for Study of Guatemala Arts and Crafts in 1998. She has won numerous grants for her school including a 1996 Bell Atlantic World Schools / Internet Grant and her classroom serves as a Technology Demonstration Grant for the West Virginia State Department of Education.

Calvert has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education 1-6 from Concord College, with specializations in Gifted Education 1-6 and Spanish 5-8 from West Virginia University. She also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from West Virginia University.
